In search of an ROV Pilot - Technician
We are seeking an experienced ROV Pilot – Technician to support the ongoing development of a key focus area for GEOxyz.
In this hands-on operational role, you will be responsible for piloting and maintaining ROV systems across the full project lifecycle, from mobilisation and offshore execution to reporting and close-out. You will ensure safe, efficient and high-quality subsea operations in support of inspection, survey and intervention projects.
Key Responsibilities:
ROV piloting and operations: Operate and navigate the ROV in complex subsea environments using navigation systems, live video feeds and sonar. Execute mission-specific tasks as directed by the project team or client. Operate specialised tooling such as manipulators, cutting devices and sampling tools.
Deployment and Recovery: Assist with the safe and efficient launch and recovery of the ROV system from vessels or offshore platforms. Ensure correct system configuration and readiness prior to deployment.
Maintenance and troubleshooting: Conduct comprehensive pre-dive checks of cameras, sensors, thrusters, hydraulic systems, electrical connections and tooling. Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose technical faults during operations. Document maintenance activities and technical issues.
Data Acquisition and Reporting: Ensure accurate recording and storage of video and sensor data. Prepare clear operational and technical reports following project requirements.
Safety and compliance: Adhere to all company, client and industry HSE standards. Conduct risk assessments and respond effectively to offshore emergency situations.
Teamwork and communication: Collaborate closely with Supervisors, Engineers and offshore personnel. Communicate operational progress and issues clearly to relevant stakeholders.
What do we expect from you?
Experience as ROV Pilot – Technician in subsea or offshore operations
Ability to pilot and operate ROV systems safely and efficiently
Basic understanding of hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Familiarity with subsea operations, procedures and safety protocols
Good understanding of weather and tidal conditions
Clear communication skills and strong team mindset
