In search of Marine Technical Procurement Officer

You assure adequate supply of marine technical spare parts and consumables to our fleet and you implement and maintain the fleetmanagement database and software:

Operational:

  • Manage the procurement of goods, materials and services for the fleet in a cost efficient and timely manner, in accordance with requirements and at acceptable terms and conditions.
  • Arranging the adequate evaluation of bids from vendors/subcontractors involving relevant disciplines.
  • Documenting and controlling commitments between company and vendors/subcontractors, ensuring that Procurement Files and vendor/subcontractor documentation are complete and up-to-date.
  • Selection, evaluation and appraisal of vendors/subcontractors/agents and monitor vendor/subcontractor performance.
  • Develop a sound procurement strategy, and maintain excellent supplier relationships.
  • Management and control of procurement costs.
  • Set up and maintain Fleet Management System, mainly PMS, procurement and inventory side.
  • Other duties as directed by Technical Superintendent from time to time.

HSSE

  • Lead by example in demonstrating the correct behaviour in implementing all HSE programs.
  • Recognize the ‘ownership' of health, safety and environmental control within their sphere of activity and lead by example.
  • Ensure that vessel and occupational health and safety is never jeopardized by failure to arrange the timely provision of essential goods or services

What do we expect from you?

  • You have a bachelor degree in commerce/business or in an engineering discipline.
  • Additional training in purchasing and supply Chain is a plus.
  • Experience in worldwide purchasing of materials, equipment and spare parts.
  • Experience in offshore/shipping or equivalent industry is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Good knowledge of MS office package.
